New funding program for repairs to homes of trapped residents nearing completion
A new funding program for maintenance
Preparations for a new funding program to support repair and maintenance work on the homes of Greek Cypriots who are trapped or displaced in the occupied north are nearly complete, the President's Office announced.
Cooperation between various institutions
The initiative was launched by Presidential Envoy Marios Hartsiotis and is being developed jointly with the Cypriot Chamber of Science and Technology (Etek). On Thursday, Hartsiotis met with representatives from the Ministry of the Interior and Etek to clarify outstanding issues and discuss the final details before the program's completion.

Acceleration of procedures
The current status follows previous talks between Hartsiotis and Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, in which the basic framework was defined and an acceleration of the procedures was agreed upon. The relevant government agencies are now working to finalize the necessary steps to submit the program for approval.
Objective of the program
The support program is part of the government's policy to assist trapped Greek Cypriots and resettled individuals in northern communities. The focus is on improving their living conditions. The program aims to provide practical and substantial assistance to people who, despite the difficult circumstances, continue to live in their ancestral communities.
