Kyrenia Castle
Kyrenia Castle (Turkish: Girne Kalesi) is located on the north coast in Girne (Kyrenia), east of the old city harbor.
The Venetians built the castle in the 16th century over an older Crusader fortification. Within its walls stands a 12th-century chapel containing reused late Roman capitals. The fortress also houses the Shipwreck Museum.
