Buffavento Castle
Buffavento Castle is the ruin of a medieval hilltop castle in the Beşparmak Mountains (Pentadaktylos) near Güneyli in the Girne (Kyrenia) region.
The exact construction date cannot be determined; the Byzantine period is considered most likely. The complex combines Byzantine and Frankish architectural elements. It was abandoned in the 14th century. Together with St. Hilarion and Kantara, it is one of the three former fortresses in the Kyrenia Mountains.
