Das GABFEST hat seine 8-wöchige Reise begonnen, die in Yılmazköy startet und in verschiedenen Teilen der Stadt Nordzypern fortgesetzt wird. Das Festival umfasst Sport, Tanz, Musik sowie Kultur und Kunst und hat sich zu einer Marke im Land entwickelt. Für das Festival wurde ein bisher ungenutztes Areal in Yılmazköy als Veranstaltungsort hergerichtet. Die Veranstaltung wird von der Gemeinde unterstützt, die Kultur und Kunst als wesentliche Aufgaben ihrer Arbeit betrachtet.
