Euripides' Alcestis closes the Greek Drama Festival
The National Theatre of Greece presents Euripides' tragedy Alcestis on August 7th and 8th as the closing performance of the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama. Directed by Dimitris Karantzas, the production takes place at the ancient theatre of Curium in Limassol and will be performed in both English and Greek with surtitles. The staging combines music, movement, and theatrical style into a modern interpretation with political undertones, exploring themes such as power, gender, sacrifice, and social responsibility.
