The official commemorative program marking the 52nd anniversary of the July 20, 1974 Turkish peacekeeping operation in Cyprus began with a speech by President Tufan Erhürman at the BRTK television station. The ceremonies included wreath-laying ceremonies at Boğaz Şehitliği and the monument to Dr. Fazıl Küçük, a military parade on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, and a reception at the Presidential Palace.
