To mark the 52nd anniversary of July 20th, Barış ve Özgürlük Bayramı (Hail and Freedom Day), an official event was held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, where Ziyad Öztürkler, Speaker of the Parliament of the TRNC, received the Mayor of Gaziantep, Fatma Şahin, and her delegation. The event included official speeches and emphasized the close fraternal relationship between Turkey and the TRNC, as well as the importance of military protection for the peace and security of the Turkish community in Cyprus.
